The loan, which will be used to support VinFast's establishment of lithium-ion battery manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, is subject to a comprehensive review and approval process by DFC, the carmaker said in a statement. DFC said on X, formerly Twitter, that it had signed the letter of interest to support VinFast's lithium-ion battery facilities in Vietnam, but did not provide details. The project will be the first in a series of initiatives actively discussed by the two parties, VinFast said.

CNN —An Iowa woman whose husband ran for Congress and lost the GOP primary in 2020 was convicted by a federal jury Tuesday of a voter fraud scheme during the primary and general elections. Her husband, Jeremy Taylor, lost the Republican primary in Iowa for the US House in 2020 but was elected as the Woodbury County supervisor in a general election that year. Prosecutors say Kim Taylor visited households in the Vietnamese community, encouraging residents to fill out voter registration forms and absentee ballot request forms. Kim Taylor “submitted or caused others to submit dozens of voter registrations, absentee ballot request forms, and absentee ballots containing false information,” the Justice Department said in a statement. She also “completed and signed voter forms without voters’ permission and told others that they could sign on behalf of relatives who were not present,” the DOJ said.

HANOI, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Apple (AAPL.O) supplier Luxshare Precision Industry Co (002475.SZ) has been awarded a license to invest an additional $330 million in its plant in Vietnam's northern province of Bac Giang, raising the total investment to $504 million, provincial authorities said. The facility is expected to be completed in 12 to 24 months, it added. China-based Luxshare, one of Apple's main AirPods makers, started investing in Vietnam since 2019. Its additional investment in the country comes as other manufacturers seek to further diversify production away from China. Earlier this year, another Apple supplier, Foxconn, set up a new factory in central Vietnam and raised its investment in the country by $250 million to make electric vehicles and telecom parts.

The first batch of the jets will be delivered to its unit in Thailand, Thai VietJet, the company said in a statement, following a meeting between its chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and Boeing Global President Brendan Nelson in Hanoi. On Monday, VietJet signed a memorandum of understanding with Carlyle Aviation Partners for pre-delivery payment financing facility worth up to $550 million to fund its 737 MAX aircraft purchases, it said. HANOI (Reuters) - Many people are feared dead and several have been injured in a fire at an apartment block in Vietnam's capital Hanoi, state media reported on Wednesday. Authorities have not confirmed the number of deaths as of early Wednesday.
